CARHEX factory quick ratio 12.7.1 box 3 to 3 1/4 turn stop to stop with this box you do not lose turning radius. This box will be allot firmer than your worn out stock box. The stock rag joint and hose fittings you have will bolt right up no need for any adaptors. This is a factory housing #6 or #7/6 casting.
They are rebuilt factory quick ratio boxes from 70-76 Gm cars with factory quick ratio and bolt right up to 64-76 cars. No need for adaptors or fittings like you would have to use on a jeep style box. This is a factory 4 mounting bolt style box not the "budget econo box" with the 3 mounting bolts. Core must not be rusted or pitted. Core must not be locked up.
Core must have a 3 turn piston to get the 120 back. Here is a bit of info that might help.
GM used the same style gear box housing from 64-76. The boxes made from 64-69 were mostly 4 turn boxes with some being 3.5 turn 14.1 ratio. Starting in 1970 to 1976 GM starting making 12.7.1 ratio 3 turn boxes. This is the box we sell. They bolt right in to all 64-76 cars. You see the biggest difference and gain in performance in 70 and older cars. Some 70 to 76 cars did not have quick ratio 12.7.1 steering but most did and in that case my box would only be a fresh rebuild back to what it should be.
Carhex quick ratio boxes are fully rebuilt. We use only American made rebuild kits Direct bolt in replacement for most 64 to 76 GM cars. They are 12.7.1 ratio. They maintain full turning radius They use factory rag joints and accept factory style hose fittings.
This is a true bolt in box. Cores must be power steering cores. We only accept #6 or #76 castings core. Cores must not be rusted or pitted.
Cores can not be locked up. Cores can not have any stripped threads or broken studs. Core charge break down as follows. If you don't have a good core you will not get the core or conversion charge back. Other sellers are offering another box for a few bucks less and the core charge is lower.
That box dose bolt right up but you will have to change the rag joint and in most cases change the hose fittings. That box is the 3 mounting bolt style box also know as the "Z" style box or Monte carlo grand national box and the jeep box. It is 12.7.1 ratio 3 turn box. For almost the same price as one of this style boxes you can have the higher quality bolt in box that I offer. Good luck and thank you for letting us be a part of your project.
