Or, at least, that's what GM's marketing teams told American buyers when the all-new fourth-generation Camaro launched for model year 1993. Based on the F-body platform, the new Camaro had stayed true to its original 1967 mission as a performance coupe with rear-wheel drive and a 2+2 seating configuration.

Some 26 years later, the majority have likely found their way to pastures and junkyards, but a few special cars such as this one, have been preserved for the enjoyment of future generations. The original dealer installed two-toned gray leather interior package with dual front airbags is in excellent condition. Other creature comforts include 6-way power driver seat, power locks, power-tinted windows, removable T-Tops, and remote trunk. The design language of the fourth-gen Camaro still looks sleek by modern-day standards.

The Medium Patriot Red Metallic paint is in great shape (does look like at some point it did have a respray). A black-painted roof adds to the car's jet-cockpit styling, and aerodynamic sideview mirrors coupled with an integrated trunk spoiler provide the right design cues to help the car look fast at any speed. Although base-model Camaros in 1995 came with a 3.8-liter V6, higher-level models like the Z28 were powered by a 5.7-liter LT1 350cid small-block V8 that was originally introduced in the Corvette in 1992. We like the way the Z28 sounds when it starts. The engine crackles and rumbles, then settles into a smooth idle. Next you hear a deep burble from the fat dual exhaust pipes poking out under the rear bumper. It's safe to say that this 27k Camaro's heartbeat is still beating strong and healthy. All in all, the Z28 just may be the next best thing to a Corvette.
